More information about Agios Onoufrios Agios Onoufrios is a small seaside village at Cape Akrotiri, 8 km north of Chania and near the village of Kounoupidiana. The village is actually a suburb of Chania, as it is very close to the city. It is named after the small chapel next to the beach, which is dedicated to Saint Onoufrios and celebrated on 12 June. The beach of Agios Onoufrios is quiet and hidden in a well-protected bay. It is sandy and not very well organised. It is mainly preferred by the residents of the wider area. The picturesque landscape, the traditional taverns and the calm sea are a good reason to visit Agios Onoufrios. The only unpleasant voices in the quiet landscape are the fuel tanks located northwest of the beach.
