Location

Port de Pollença is situated in the north of the island in the Bay of Pollença. It is the perfect starting point for excursions, for example to Es Colomer, a lookout point with breathtakingly beautiful views of the rugged cliffs or the bay of Cala Figuera. In particular, nature lovers will find plenty to keep them occupied here. But Pollença is also interesting for sailors: the mountains of the peninsulas surrounding the bay ensure that there is rarely swell. In summer, a stable sea wind forms during the day due to thermals, which are further strengthened by the parallel mountain ranges, and provides reliable sailing weather. The region is also popular with scuba divers and surfers.

Unlike many other holiday resorts, Port de Pollença has hardly any large hotel blocks. The pretty old town centre is centred around the market square. The seafront promenade is shaded by palm trees. The beach slopes very gently down to the water, making it ideal for young children to play in.

Just ten minutes away is Alcúdia, with its impressive, still-accessible city walls (from which you have a great view over the city's rooftops) and many Renaissance buildings. The old town is ideal for a stroll through the lovingly restored alleys and attracts visitors with many restaurants where you can enjoy local specialities. The market days every Tuesday and Sunday are also a special tip.
