Vouves is a charming rural settlement on a gentle hill, surrounded by olive groves and Mediterranean vegetation. From here, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Cretan Sea and the green landscape of the Chania region. Vouves is best known for the oldest olive tree in the world – an impressive natural monument that is over 3,000 years old and still bears olives today. In the accompanying olive tree museum, visitors can learn a lot about the millennia-old culture of olive cultivation in Crete.
Just a few kilometres away, some of the region's most beautiful beaches invite you to relax and unwind. Tavronitis Beach (approx. 7 km), the quiet, family-friendly Kolymbari Beach (approx. 8 km) and the slightly livelier Maleme Beach (approx. 10 km) are all within easy reach by car.
