Lajatico is an Italian village with 1,303 inhabitants. It is located in Tuscany in the province of Pisa near Volterra.
The municipality is located approximately 50 km south-west of the regional capital Florence and approximately 40 km south-east of the provincial capital Pisa. The main town is located at 205 m above sea level, with the lowest point in the municipality at 50 m and the highest at 628 m. The town lies on the rivers Era, Ragone and Sterza. Near the district of Orciatico lies Orciatico-Orendit. Lajatico was formerly also known as "Ajatico da Centrum", "Ajatico" and "Lajatici". The first document was signed there in 891. Lajatico became independent in 1776. In the 19th century, the "Banca Popolare di Lajatico" was founded as the only bank in Lajatico.
