The Cretan wild goat, which is a protected species, lives there. On this island you will see the remains of a Venetian fortress wall. If you would like to eat fish in a quiet taverna right by the sea, with an original Cretan atmosphere, then we recommend a trip to the quaint fishing village of Kolimbari, which lies at the foot of the Rodopous peninsula, west of Agia Marina. Here the taverna owners still go fishing themselves.
