Agios Nikolaos is the capital of the Lasithi region and is located on the Bay of Mirabello in the north-east of Crete, just 45 minutes from Heraklion International Airport. Geographically, the town is well protected from strong winds, making water sports and swimming possible almost all year round.

The microclimate is one of the best in Greece, with moderate temperatures rarely exceeding 30°C in summer and rarely falling below 15°C in winter. This wonderfully dry climate, combined with the natural beauty of the area, has attracted most of the staff of Greece's high-class hotels to work here.
